Work Gloves

Work Gloves is a Hands item in The Long Dark. It adds 1°C warmth and 0.5°C windproofing. It weighs 0.25 kg.

Within the Hands slot its 1°C warmth ranks #4 of 13 entries here — mid-pack for that layer.

At 4°C per kg its warmth-to-weight ratio ranks #24 of 100 clothing items with both values recorded — a strong ratio.

Its 4% protection is a small edge in a predator struggle, though mobility and warmth matter more in most runs.

Note the 2% mobility penalty — it slows you slightly, so a lighter inner layer can be the better trade when you are carrying a heavy load.

Crafting notes: it repairs with 1 × Cured leather; 30 minutes; 25% condition and harvests into 1 × Cured leather; 10 minutes.

Verdict: Overall Work Gloves is a 1°C Hands piece.
