Work Pants

Work Pants is an Outer legs item in The Long Dark. It adds 1.5°C warmth and 1°C windproofing. Waterproofing is 10%. It weighs 1.5 kg.

Within the Outer legs slot its 1.5°C warmth ranks #4 of 9 entries here — mid-pack for that layer.

At 1°C per kg its warmth-to-weight ratio ranks #87 of 100 clothing items with both values recorded — a poor return for the weight.

Its 8% protection is a small edge in a predator struggle, though mobility and warmth matter more in most runs.

Note the 3% mobility penalty — it slows you slightly, so a lighter inner layer can be the better trade when you are carrying a heavy load.

Crafting notes: it repairs with 1 × Cloth; 30 minutes; 30% condition and harvests into 1 × Cloth; 30 minutes.

Verdict: Overall Work Pants is a 1.5°C Outer legs piece, best reserved for cold-weather loadouts where the mobility hit is affordable.
